  • Pharmaceutical Industry Labor-Management Association (PILMA)

PILMA seeks to extend the benefits of health and wellbeing to working families through the labor movement – its leaders, members and working families – encouraging healthy lifestyles, providing information on new products and health breakthroughs.

PILMA’s member organizations, trustees and partners are committed to developing a better understanding of how America’s pharmaceutical industry adds value to the lives of the nation’s working families through its products, its research and its innovation. The industry provides thousands of good paying, union jobs in the USA.

That’s why PILMA is working hard on Capitol Hill to get the State Children’s Health Insurance Program reauthorized by Congress and signed by the President. Healthy lifestyles for America’s kids start with good health care coverage. Since SCHIP was first enacted ten years ago, the number of children covered by health insurance has increased by one-third. Today, SCHIP provides coverage for more than 6 million children. The program needs to continue.
